Stephan Valter is the principal of Mass. Trained at the multi-disciplinary State Academy of Art and Design in Stuttgart, Germany, he opened his own design practice in New York. The german-french designer has created brand identities, packaging and consumer experiences for companies like Exxon, Coca-Cola, LVMH, and Diageo, and expanded into digital design and technology.
Valter's design thinking is interdisciplinary and rooted in his passion for new areas: experiences and technoloy, user interface and digital product design, animation and video, furniture and exhibition design. His design process is holistic, connecting all aspects of a brand to its core tenet.
Valter is also the co-founder and inventor of Nomi, a sensor-enabled packaging system for healthcare. With this product he introduced the remote tracking of consumption, and added an entire new data category with real-time metrics and analytics to the Internet-of-Things.
