Mass is an experience design group. Define, shape, build, and invent. Brands, digital products, IRL experiences, and ventures.
Stephan Valter is the principal of Mass. Trained at the multi-disciplinary State Academy of Art and Design in Stuttgart, Germany, he opened his own design practice in New York. The German-French designer has created consumer experiences, brand identities and packaging for companies like Exxon, Coca-Cola, LVMH, and Diageo, and expanded into digital design and technology.
Valter's design thinking is interdisciplinary and rooted in his passion for new areas: experiences and technology, user interface and digital product design, animation and video, furniture and spatial design. His design process is holistic, connection all aspects of a brand to its core tenet.
Valter is also the co-founder and inventor of Nomi, a sensor-enabled packaging and data platform for healthcare. He is introducing the remote tracking of medication adherence, a new data category crucial for improving the health outcomes of patients with serious illnesses.
Mass designs the undesigned, the unidentified, the underperforming. Experiences, digital and offline, brand identity, products and packaging.
